About the exhibition
Experience the power of large abstract artworks created by Lithuanian artist Aloyzas Smilingis-Elis and learn about the artist who developed his artistic career resisting the Soviet regime.
The exhibition, organised by artist’s daughter and founder of online art boutique , is a blend of a Lithuanian talent, contemporary technology and exceptional Swiss quality of printing that allowed to showcase stunning statement abstractions in a modern gallery at the beautiful area of Zurich.
The exhibition showcases several early artworks, while the artist was still experimenting with figurative painting, as well as recently created digital abstractions.
All artworks presented at the exhibition are limited editions printed in Switzerland and have been protected by Tagsmart, a cutting-edge certification service which uses blockchain technology.

About the artist
Aloyzas Smilingis-Elis is a famous Lithuanian painter and sculptor. His talent for drawing was recognised when he was still a schoolboy. Determination to become a professional artist led him to the Academy of Arts in Vilnius, Lithuania. Search for self expression brought him into the three dimensional world of sculpture.
Bronze, granite and other materials obeyed him and despite his non-conformist approach and mode of expression, artist became famous in the former Soviet Union. His large scale sculptures decorated many of public spaces.
Painting was also an important part of his career. In the 80’s, during his visit in USA, Elis met Willem de Kooning and shared creative ideas. This meeting was a great inspiration.
In his seventies, to the surprise of his family, Elis mastered digital technology and started creating impressive digital abstractions.
Artist resides and works in Lithuania, his art is owned by several Lithuanian museums and belongs to private collectors in Australia, Italy, USA, UK, Denmark, Netherlands, Germany, Sweden, Lithuania and Japan.
